Death of a Salesman

Ok, we've put together a lot of elements from this play. What is it about? What are the themes of Miller's play?

Someone said its about theme and meaning of Death Of A Salesmen. I think if i had to go with a theme or meaning i would go with something dealing with WIlly not being able to reach the top. Perhaps uncertainty. Both he and Bif seem to be uncertain with things, afterall he does commit suicide at the end. Bif is uncertain becuase he gets stuck working inside when he really wants to be outside. Willy is at a certain point in his life where he just can't seem to get any higher up in society.

There were several themes in "Death of a Salesman", I thought the biggest one was regret. After he cheated on his wife it seemed he lost some of his life. His kids didnt look up to him anymore, it seems he lost a lot of respect from other people to. His kids not looking up to him seem to affect him a great deal. He was there hero until that one day when Bif walked in on him and the woman. I think Willy really regretted the decision he made about cheating on his wife, because to me it seemed his life had dramatically changed after that incident.
